Know Yourself and Know Your Body
There are many reasons why its good to know yourself and your body.
First, being in tune with how and why you feel a certain way emotionally puts you in charge of your personal growth and happiness.
Secondly, being aware of how you feel physically, puts you more in charge of your health.
Your Emotional and Physical sides of your being, are both important and work together. It's key for them to work together in order for you to achieve the most happiness and joy in life.
I've spoken in other posts, about self awareness and how it supports a more happy life. Knowing your emotions along with when and why you feel them, gives you the power to use them to your advantage in achieving personal growth.
Being aware of your positive traits and habits allows you to both embrace and build upon them. You can therefore use them effectively in your job and in your personal life to be more successful and fulfilled.
Of equal importance, is to be aware of your "not so positive" habits and traits. You can then change them or at least compensate for them.
For example, if you realize that you naturally tend to forget where you place things, you can devise a way of placing things in the same spot all the time to help you always find them.
If you tend to forget to do certain things, you can put reminders for yourself either in your cell phone or on Post-It notes. If you lack technical skills, you can take action to increase your knowledge of those skills.
On the physical side, it's wise to Know Your Body. That is, how you normally feel, patterns in when you feel differently plus other changes in your body. Being constantly aware of these things can alert you to possible illness.
We all know all of the questions our doctors ask us during our checkups. Its crucial to provide accurate answers to the best of your ability. Knowing your body helps a doctors appointment to be more successful. You can also help in catching an illness in its early stages and proactively combat it.
As you can see, its important to be aware of how you feel and why, both in the Emotional and Physical sense.
If your goal is to have as much happiness and joy in life, you need to realize how knowing yourself and knowing your body go hand in hand towards that goal.
