Don't Let The Destination Make You Lose Sight of the Journey

How many times have you been so focused on reaching a goal or getting something done, that you didn't even enjoy yourself in the process? Have you ever driven somewhere on vacation and were so focused on getting to your destination by a certain time, you left no room for fun on the way? Maybe you were so stressed on your way there that your trip was not as fun as it could have been.

When you think of your school years, do you have fond memories or is it just a blur? Perhaps, you put so much pressure on yourself to excel, that you left no time for any enjoyable times. Maybe you even are still doing that to yourself today!

Life is basically one long journey beginning on the day we take our first breath until the day we take our last. People sometimes fill their lives up with goals involving a whole series of actions to get to those goals, and lose sight of the fun they could have on the way to reaching them. In other words, they let their minds focus too much on the destination and not on the actual journey itself.

Of course, there are times when you need to do things that aren't pleasant or you have struggles to deal with in life. You will have frustrations and challenging times along the way, but try to stay positive and slow down a bit to experience life, the people around you, and the many opportunities for good times.

If you accept that life is a series of ups and downs and focus more on the ups and not get stuck in the downs, you will enjoy the entire journey of life.
