Give Thanks
A simple "Thank You" is naturally a sign of good manners, but it's also a powerful way to make someone feel good. Giving thanks rewards positive actions and behaviors and motivates someone to continue them. It also reinforces and strengthens relationships.
There are many occasions when one can give thanks to someone. Some of them are the usual no-brainers, like thanking someone for doing something for you, for their generosity, for holding the door for you, or for giving you a gift. On the other hand, there are other occasions that you can give thanks, that you might not have thought of as important.
Thanking Someone For Loving You
Someone's Love for you is not something to be taken for granted. When you thank someone for loving you, it shows that you appreciate that he or she has chosen you to love out of all the other people in the world. Think about how many millions and millions of people there are in the world. When someone loves you and shows you how much they love you, you are special. Giving thanks shows him or her that you will treasure that love.
Thanking Someone For Supporting You
It's a wonderful thing to have someone supporting you emotionally and being there for you for motivation and encouragement. Not everyone has a support system in his or her life. Giving thanks to someone for supporting you, shows how much the act of being supportive means to you. It spreads the world that we need more supportive people around us.
Thanking Someone For Their Unselfishness
Unselfishness is not as common as you might think. Many people are always wrapped up in their own lives or in their own head. They either have no time for others or choose not to make time. During our lives, we've met a good amount of people, that can easily be described as self centered. With that the goal of having more unselfish people and behaviors in the world, we need to reward unselfish behaviors with a sincere thanks.
Thanking Someone For Making You Laugh
Who doesn't like to laugh? Well maybe there are a couple of people somewhere that don't, but the vast majority of people do enjoy laughing. If I am having a challenging day and even when I'm not, I really enjoy when someone makes me laugh. I actually do thank them for doing that. It really enhances my day.
So, find a reason to give someone thanks today. It certainly will brighten up their day!
