Ways to Make Your Morning Less Hectic
We all know just how hectic and stressful one's morning can be. We have to deal with things like waking up before we really want to, too little sleep, getting things ready for the day and handling our personal hygiene routine. In addition, we may have other family members and pets to care for.
Lucky for you though, here are some easy things you can do to make your mornings less hectic and running more smoothly:
Prepare Some Things for the Entire Week Ahead of Time
The day before the start of your workweek, you can prepare individual servings of breakfast for each day, such as oatmeal. Make a large batch of it and put it into several single serve storage containers for each day of the week. Place them all in the refrigerator for easy access each day of the following week. You can do that with dry cereal as well, but without having to refrigerate it.
Also, gather all of your supplements and vitamins for the following week and place each days worth into small stainless steel cups for each day of the week. I stack and store all of the cups in the kitchen cabinet right above the coffee maker.
For your lunches for the week, place any items that you can into separate little plastic storage bags (e.g. carrot sticks, celery sticks, tortilla wraps, meats, cheeses, etc) and place them for easy access in the refrigerator drawer.
Doing all of these simple things the week before, dramatically streamlines your mornings for the week ahead. It also saves you money, being that you plan your breakfasts and lunches for the week and are able to eat more cheaply instead of buying those meals at your place of employment or elsewhere.
Prepare Anything You Can the Night Before
You can place anything out that you can, the night before, for easy access the next morning such as vitamins, coffee cups, tea pot, tea bags/balls, dry smoothie ingredients, plastic cups and car keys. Preset the coffee maker timer to turn on and off automatically every morning and place any clothes you plan to wear within easy reach. Also, set out your bath towels and grooming products for the next morning. Place your work bag next to the door for easy grabbing when leaving. Lastly, place your pet bowls and Doggie waste bags for easy reach in the morning.
As you get into the habit of doing things a day and week ahead of time, you'll find yourself thinking of other many other things you can do to make your mornings less hectic. Be sure to share any ideas you have in the comments section. I'm sure that I haven't thought of everything...yet!
